You probably have the mats to do this already as they’re all basics. If your hull is in good shape you can always synthesise some ammo and stay longer at the res site. Multicannons don’t need as much power as lasers so you can put an extra pip or 3 on your shields and return fire whilst being fired upon. As you’ve hull tanking you’ll need to make regular returns to the nearest station so you might as well go all out and go full gimballed multi-cannon as you can restock on ammo when you dock for repairs.
Military grade is heavy and expensive and it’ll kill you manoeuvrability. Seeing as you’re going unengineered hull tank, I’d fit some reinforced armour to the hull as well. You can fit a third shield booster if you’re not planning on using a shield cell bank as you won’t need a heat sink.įor hull tanking fit some large hull and module reinforcements + an A rated shield generator and watch your pip management.
Go for a couple of boosters + a warrant scanner to get more cash from your kills. Ok so the un-engineered version would have to be a hull tank as the Python only has 4 utility slots so stacking shield boosters for a shield tank build is a no go. Not sure how much cash you have but a Python combat build costs $millions so you might be better off using a smaller, less expensive ship if you’re new to combat. Seeing as your combat focused, get rep with with the engineers that do weaponry, shields and shield boosters first, if invite order will allow. Just remember to collect the mats that ships drop when you’ve killed them and scan all the ships you can whilst docking, at res sites, etc and you’ll build up a library of mats pretty quickly. It’ll save you time and money in the long run. I know engineering seems like a pita but once you get to grips with it it’s actually pretty easy. The Python is an okish ship but it becomes an amazing ship once you’ve engineered it.
